We think that we know most of our Universe. We believe that our space scientists have unearthed most of the mysteries of the Universe. Of course, we have achieved a lot but still we know very little only. That is the truth. Our universe is so huge and vast. For humans to understand it fully, it may take even decades or centuries.
How Big is the universe ?
We know it is big. But how big ? Can you guess ? We will start with our solar system. You know how big our Mother Earth is, don’t you? Suppose our solar system is the size of our Earth then the Earth would be like the size of a football court! So it is that big. Similarly if we assume our Milky Way galaxy to be the size of our earth, then the entire solar system would be like the size of a football court! Can you now imagine how big our galaxy is ? Now assume the entire universe is the size of our Mother Earth and then the entire Milky Way galaxy would be the size of a football court! So now can you guess how big and vast our Universe is ? Amazing, isn’t it ? And we don’t know what is outside this universe too. Some scientists argue that there are parallel universes!
We are really very small!
The entire Earth or Solar System itself is only like a tiny dot in the entire Universe and we humans think that we are above everything. We are really too small. If tomorrow something happens to the Earth or the Solar System, most parts of the Universe would not even feel vibrations of it. It is that vast. We think that we have all powers to control the Universe. We think that we humans are intelligent enough to control everything. But in reality our intelligence and powers are nothing compared to the infinite intelligence of this Universe and its powers. Even the current widespread outbreak of Coronavirus or Covid-19 itself is an example of this. Our most modern medical facilities and technological advancements have failed in front of a tiny virus.
So what should we do ?
We should understand our possibilities as well as our limitations. We are not the owners of this Earth. Nature did not give any special rights to us. All creatures on this planet, be it animals, birds, insects or trees, all have the same rights here. They all have the same rights to live here like us. We don’t have any rights to destroy or contaminate their natural habitats like trees, forests, rivers, sea etc. For the creator, everybody is the same. No special rights to any particular species. When we break the equilibrium of the natural world, issues like Corona virus will definitely affect us. So be aligned with nature and live a peaceful life. Don’t be too greedy and profit-oriented.
Like a creator or father, the Universe has done so much to us – made a perfect environment for us to live – not too cold or too hot. He has made trees to create oxygen and other creatures to make earth a perfect ecosystem. Without all these we won’t even exist for a few days. But remember without humans also, most of these things would continue to exist because we came in the last stage of evolution. Also if you look inside the body, nature has done so many beautiful things and you will be amazed with its functions. Even now with the most modern technologies in hand, we cannot understand the functioning of many things inside our own bodies.
Similarly there is air, water, rains – it goes on to be a long list. The symbols of love and care from the Universe. Also there is an ozone layer to protect us from Ultraviolet radiation, an asteroid layer to protect us from asteroids, and a covering for the solar system to protect us from outer objects. This Universe has done so much for us and we have been so ungrateful towards it. Don’t you think that’s true? For money, power, and pleasure we are destroying everything. Not everybody, but the majority of us. We don’t realize the value of Life, the greatness of this Universe or the Love and Care it is showering on us every moment. At least we should realize that without it we cannot even survive a few minutes.
