Streptococcus is a gram-positive coccus bacteria that belongs to the family Streptococcaceae. There are many types of Strep bacteria but mainly group A and group B cause most infections in humans. Group A causes strep throat, scarlet fever etc and group B can cause blood infections.
Staphylococcus is another group of bacteria with more than 30 types and mainly Staphylococcus aureus causes most infections in humans. Some common infections caused by staph bacteria are food infections, skin infections etc.
