Since it is a new virus our immune systems are totally unaware about how to tackle this virus. So it is spreading all over the world at an alarming rate.

What you can do to prevent a Covid 19 infection ?

First thing is to do as per the authorities say – like stay at home and go out only when there is no other option. Then wash your hand with soap or hand wash for at least 20 seconds. When you go out keep safe distance – at least 1 meter from people. Staying at home and social distancing are two main important things when we are dealing with a new virus. When go out always wear a mask which cover your nose and mouth fully. When you come back immediately immerse dress in a antiseptic liquid and take bath immediately.

Will Taking Steam Helps ?

There is no official confirmation about it but as per common sense it should help because when virus enters our body it stick to our lungs and throat for 2-3 days. So during this time if we take steam it will remove them before entering our cells. Once it enters the cell then difficult to manage. So take a steam at least once a day and immediately after when you come back.

Immunity Boosting Foods

Another important aspect is you should eat healthy and immunity boosting foods. If your immune system is perfect and working in optimum level up to an extend we can prevent any kind of external threat – be it a virus, bacteria or fungus. Include more fruits and vegetables – which will increase your blood alkaline levels and increase vitamin C which is very important for immune system. Also take foods like ginger, garlic, onion, turmeric, gooseberry, pepper, lemon etc if available.

Reduce Inflammatory and unhealthy foods

Reduce intake of junk, unhealthy and inflammatory foods. Better to switch to vegetarian diet and avoid non vegetarian if possible or reduce the intake of meat products. If you have habits of smoking and drinking stop it immediately because it seriously affects your immune power.

Raw Foods are Better. But…

It is better to eat more raw foods and reduce cooked foods at this time because cooked foods increase inflammation and raw foods reduce inflammation. But there is high possibility of foods getting contaminated this time so when you eat raw foods you should wash it properly.

If virus already inside cells then answer is no because even if you stand in direct sunlight body temperature will be same but as i said before during early stages when virus is in lungs or throat a high temperature air can destroy it. Also exposing to sunlight improve Vitamin D which is very crucial for immune system. So 15-20 minutes sunlight exposure per day is good if possible.

Physical Exercise and Yoga

Physical fitness is very important during this time so do exercise or yoga daily. Body needs movement and when you stay at home there wont be much movements. It will boost your immune system and power to prevent and fight any infection.

Meditation, Deep Breathing and Pranayama

Mental fitness also very important so do meditation, prayer or any other kind of activities to cool down. Deep breathing or pranayama are extremely important since it helps to keep lungs clean.
