Mindfulness Meditation : Calm Mind and increase Consciousness and Awareness

Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness is simply being aware about the current moment. Actually what we have is only the present moment. Past is history and future is imagination. When you think about the past or future you are missing the valuable current moment which will not come back again. So don’t make that mistake. Always try to be in the present moment.

Advantage of Mindfulness

As everybody knows our mind has mainly 2 parts – conscious and subconscious. Similarly we can be driven by either of these. If we are running from the subconscious mind it is called auto mode and when it is run by the conscious it is called direct mode. So any action we can do it knowingly or unknowingly. For eg while brushing your teeth in the morning or while taking a glass or driving a car you can do it knowingly or unknowingly. Most of the time it happens unconsciously. That means it is running from the subconscious mind. But same thing you can do it consciously with the help of the conscious mind. If you do it consciously then there is a devotion or bliss in that rather than doing it mechanically. If you practice it daily then this itself a meditation and will improve your consciousness.

What is the problem if running from the subconscious ?

Problem is most of the data residing in the subconscious was recorded during our childhood period and most of them will be negative too. So when you run from the subconscious it will be based on these obsolete and negative data. When too much that data comes to mind then your mood will become automatically negative. For eg if you decide to stay positive – this decision taken by conscious mind or want to stop bad habits and when control given to subconscious it compares it with past data and it overpower your conscious mind because subconscious is million times more powerful than conscious mind. So to be positive and make successful changes in life don’t allow the subconscious to take over the control. For this mindfulness helps.

Every Thoughts Drain Energy

Another important thing is that every thought drains energy. We have only a limited amount of energy and when you think too much gradually your energy becomes depleted and you feel fatigue by the end of the day but if you practice mindfulness your thoughts will reduce because most of the thoughts come when control is in the subconscious mind. When you are present and live in the moment thoughts will reduce automatically and this will greatly increase your energies and increase awareness and consciousness.
