Why is it important not to use mobile phones just after waking up and just before sleep ?

Waking Up or Going to Bed with Mobile Phone ?

Are you the kind of person who wakes up with a mobile phone and goes to sleep with a mobile phone watching social media sites and other such things ? If so you should immediately stop that habit. There is a big scientific reason behind it which you may not be aware of.

Conscious and Subconscious Mind

As explained in our other posts our mind has two parts – conscious and subconscious mind. We normally deal with the conscious mind and don’t directly interact with the subconscious most of the time. But in reality we are fully controlled by the subconscious mind. It contains a huge collection of data from our childhood and all our habits, addictions, thoughts and relationships patterns, beliefs, values are based on these data.

Conscious Mind – The Gate Keeper

When we are fully awake, the conscious mind acts like a gatekeeper and passes limited information to the subconscious – only filtered data which it feels logical and true. Conscious mind is analytical and it knows which is true and which is not. So there is no problem.

Brain Waves – Alpha, Theta & Delta

But when we are just awake or when we are about to sleep our brain frequency will slowly pass through alpha, theta and finally delta states which is deep sleep frequency. In these states conscious mind slowly moves out from the picture and slowly our subconscious mind becomes more receptive and accessible.

More Receptive Subconscious Mind

So at these states consciousness doesn’t do a cross checking of data we receive through senses – mainly through eyes and ears. So whatever we see and hear go directly into the subconscious mind. Problem is the subconscious mind doesn’t have any option to check the validity of the data. It’s duty is just to store whatever information comes and it keeps on writing that data to our memory.

Social Media & Negativity

Nowadays social media and other such sites and apps filled with so much negative and fake information. So while day time even if you read such information your conscious mind neglects it and it doesn’t go to your memory. But during the above mentioned states conscious mind is almost drowsy so it directly passes to the subconscious mind and it stores that data completely.

Data in the Subconscious Decides Your Future

So all those negative thoughts, news or false information goes into your memory without any validation and your future beliefs, values, thought patterns and behaviors will be based on these false or negative data. So without even your knowledge whatever you see and hear during these periods just go to your subconscious storage and your future depends on that. So be very careful with this.

Fill Subconscious with Good Data

On the other hand you can utilize this to feed positive things to your subconscious. Try to read positive and inspiring things during this period. Listen to good inspirational speeches or watch such videos, fill your mind with positive thoughts, read good books etc.
